Been having a play

 BEEN PLAYING

Well finally got some time and inspiration to sit down and have a play with some new products.  I know I said I will be posting a card soon with some of the new products available but, really wanted to show you these.
If you have seen a copy of our new Holiday Catalogue lately you might like me have gone wow with the front cover.  There is a gorgeous Christmas Ornament on the front page and I really wanted to give it a shot.  So although a little different this is my take on it.

I have used some of the old Christmas Designer Series Paper for this one.  Instead of stamping the ornaments I have just cut them out with the Holiday Ornament Framelits Dies, added some Cherry Cobbler Twine and the new Scalloped Tulle Ribbon in early espresso.  Not bad for a first go but will be working on some more real soon.
If you do like this Die and Stamp set, a great way to purchase is in the Bundle which will save you 15% on buying them separately.  Other Bundles are also available in the Holiday Catalogue so keep an eye out for them.  Always nice to save a little.

This one here is Designer Rosette Bigz XL Die, which I just love, so easy to make a flower for a card or scrap page.  Again so many more things you can do with this one.

JAI 123- Just Add a Sketch!

 A Sketch Challenge

Well here it is Ladies, I did promise you a look at the challenge card that I managed to do yesterday.  So this is for the Just Add Ink challenge site.  This week they decided on a sketch challenge.  So I love the vintage look so that is where I started.  I have also been trying to have a play with the new Framelits Labels Dies to see what different shape cards I can come up with.

My card uses Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla cardstock.  I used the largest die from the Labels Collection and fold my cardstock so that I could just cut away the top, to get the curvy look.  I have also folded it twice that so I got a concertina style card.  I used the Finial Press embossing folder and then I have sponged the raised bits with early espresso ink. I have used the Boho Blossoms punch for my flowers and the tag punch for the tag with an antique mini clip.  The stamp sets used for the words are Happiest Birthday Wishes (Hostess set) and the Tiny Tags for the 4 you on the tag.  The inside of the card I lightly spritzed the very vanilla cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you like my card. So don't forget to pop over to the Just Add Ink website for more inspiration.

Just Add Ink colour challenge #117

Blossom Birthday
My oh my isn't amazing how sometimes things just work.  I had a look at this weeks JAI challenge and was a little skeptical.  Not quite sure of the colours that we had to use.  So any way went on my merry way and bang an idea came to me, so dropped everything and a way creating I went. When I see a colour combo challenge I always seem to overload with the colours, but this time I thought less would be best.

Colour Combo

Now we all know we are our worst critics and its not very often we WOW ourselves with our own work, but I must say I am very very pleased with how my card turned out this time.  So yes I did go WOW looking at the card finished.

I hope you like and its goes WOW for you too.  So don't forget to pop over to the Just Add Ink website and get some more WOW's from all the talented ladies.

This is my card.

May is for Mothers Day

 May is for Mum's
SUO Challenge #44

Well I have had time to put together another challenge card for the Stampin Up Only challenge website.  I have just encountered these bookmark cards and I am loving them.  Not only do I think they add just a little bit more to giving a card but what a great way to give that special person who also loves to read a gift.
This one I have made for my Mother-in-Law as I know she loves reading.

I have used Early Espresso cardstock with Old Olive and some retired Designer Series Paper.  The eyelet border punch was used on the front of the card along with the new release of our Framelits Dies - Labels Collections aren't these just fantastic. I used the Round Tab punch for the top of the bookmark added some Stampin Up Markers for the colouring in and old olive grosgrain ribbon.  The sentiment inside reads "Your in my thoughts, you're in my heart."  from the Word Play stamp set.

So thanks for stopping by to have a look and don't forget to pop over to the SUO Challenges website for more Mother's Day inspiration.

JAI #105 Colour Challenge

Card Challenge
JAI#105 Colour Challenge

Well yes this is my second post for the day as this is the second Challenge I managed to get done yesterday. This time Just Add Ink have decided on a colour challenge. I do like these challenges, makes me step outside my square and use colours I might not use.
These are the colours for the challenge. So off I went, not quite sure what I had in mind, but something always gets created. I did want to make some of the paper roses that I haven't made for a while so that was my starting point.

Here is my card.
I have used my Bigshot alot with this card. Firstly the Dots embossing folder for the background, then the Leaves die for my leaves and the Circles die for my circles. The Roses are hand made and I have used the retired stamp "Birthday Wish" for my saying. I have also scored the leaves for a nice effect.

So thanks for stopping by and don't forget to scroll down so you can check out my other Challenge of a Scrap Layout adding Holiday photos.

JAI Scrapbook Challenge #2 Holiday Photos

Just Add Holiday Photos
JAI Scrap #2

Well yesterday was a very bit of this and bit of that day. After such a very busy weekend with my eldest Son's racing I needed some chilling time, so I sat down at my craft desk and managed to get 2 Challenges done. Woo Hoo and yes they are both for the Just Add Ink website a favorite of mine.

This one is the second Scrap Challenge they have done and for this one we just had to add Holiday Photos. Well with the holidays just gone I certainly did have a few to choose from and I decided to go with the beach ones.

For my challenge today I have used our In colours. I started with
the Pool Party 12" x 12" textured paper and then for the photo backing I used the Peach Parfait and Island Indigo, with a touch of the Pear Pizzazz as well. I stamped the retired stamp set Seaside in Island Indigo and cut out the shells to add to the page. I have used the Vintage Market Alphabet die in the bigshot to get my title "Beach Fun" I have cut out two of each one in Island Indigo and one in Pear Pizzazz. A little bit a spritzing around the edges and there you have, my layout for the challenge.

The hardest part of this layout was sticking the letters back to back. But I do like the end results.

Don't forget to pop over to the Just Add Ink website to see what the design team have come up with.

Just Add Ink Colour Challenge #103

Well another challenge has been set and with Valentine's Day coming up the Just Add Ink Design Team have a colour theme to fit this day perfectly.

So with this in mind I decided on a very simple card for my design. I went with the Whisper White cardstock for the main card. I wanted some sort of flower and went with the Flower from the Fifth Avenue Stamp Set which is such a great set for colouring. My technique for colouring was with my Aqua Painters, here I have used 3 shades of red, Poppy Parade, Real Red and Riding Hood Red. I used my scoreboard and scored lines vertically and diagonally with my Riding Hood Red Marker I them traced the score lines. The Rose has been cleared embossed and them coloured in. I used my crimper for the top right hand corner and the X.O.X.O saying from the now retired "Life Definitions" Stamp set.
Here is my finished Card.

JAI102 - Just add Kathy Tanner

Sail Away
JAI #102 - Just add Kathy

Well its that time of the week again where I pop over to my favorite website and see what challenge is on for this week. Kathy Tanner is one of the design team and she has some lovely work so for this week we had to Just Add Kathy. I popped over to have a look around Kathy's website to see what I was going to do. I found this card one that Kathy did and was a little intrigued with the Grid Technique. So as I have a class coming up soon I thought I would give this one ago so I can teach my ladies as well.
Stamping Still - Kathy Tanners Card

Although I am not to sure whether I got the technique right I was pleased with the final outcome. My card for you today I have used Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo and Very Vanilla Cardstock, along with Cherry Cobbler and Island Indigo Ink. The stamp set is The Open Sea which I just love at the moment and it also has matching Designer Series paper. I add the Hodgepodge hardware and some Bakers Twine and there you have it.

So thankyou Kathy for another great design and a new technique for me. Dont forget to pop over to the Just Add Ink website to see some more of Kathy's creations

Just Add Ink Challenge #101

Well I am back again, as I have finally managed to get some crafting done. With the holidays in full swing and a well earned break from classes, I was finding it very hard to get back into the swing of things.
I needed some inspiration and get up and go so I decided to visit my favorite challenge website Just Add Ink to get my creative juices flowing again.
This week they have decided on a sketch challenge. This is the sketch we had to make something on. I wanted to do something a little different and after a rather full waste basket I ended up with this Card.

Here I have used Cherry Cobbler for the main card, with my scallop square die I ran the card through the bigshot, I then used the smaller scallop square die in Pretty in Pink for the centre piece which I have attached with our new Bakers Twine (cherry cobbler). I also used the Tasteful Trim die for the edging which gives the card abit more strength. I have embossed the Tree from the Trendy Tree Stamp Set with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder and sponged the edges.

So thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to the Just Add Ink website for some more inspiration on this sketch challenge.
